I saw you walking west on Lockwood this morning and did a U turn to take a closer look. Then I went home and read the intro about your walk, and decided I knew where you were going and would go meet you. When I didn’t find you (and I am very good at search patterns), I came home to find out all thia was last year.

I assume then that you live in WG? I live on S Park, just over I44 from Webster U. I would like the opportunity to meet you and see what you are up to since your walk. My company focusses on energy efficiency and building science. We are doing our part to save the planet – building are responsible for ~50% of all energy consumed in the US.

Please go look at my blogsite to see what we have been up to.

I appreciate your attempt to comfort me about the future of the polar ice caps, but I’m afraid you haven’t given me enough information. Are you suggesting that the long term global warming trend is at its peak? From the science I’ve read on the topic, carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases such as methane trap heat within our atmosphere. Emissions of those greenhouse house gases are increasing, so more heat will trapped in the future. Do you have evidence to suggest that is not the case? If so, you will definitely comfort me about the future.

Thanks for joining the conversation.

David

Really? If they haven’t melted by now, they’re not likely going to.

Comment on The Route by Mac Swinford http://climate-walker.org:8080/the-route/#comment-49 Mac Swinford Tue, 06 Aug 2013 01:46:54 +0000 http://climate-walker.org:8080/?page_id=12#comment-49 I was one of two bicyclists that spoke to you along the bike trail just east of London about 5 or 5:30 today (August 5th) . Best of luck to you. I am concerned that Route 66 in the Flagstaff AZ area could be bitter cold and snowy by the time you get there in the fall. Be careful.
I didn’t speak to you at all about climate change, we were too interested in your rig. I am a geologist and would have been interested in your views on mans contribution to the warming climate.
Thanks for the tip on the 380 mile-long bike trail in New York. We are looking for a new challenge.

Take care
Mac

Hope your trip is comfortable. I am intrested in hearing how you are managing the logistics of finding routes, places to stay, dealing with being alone so much, how the cart is working out, etc. Those of us who’ve met you are interested in you as well as your cause. Congrats on your progress so far. Alan

Comment on FAQs by Laura Jean Meade http://climate-walker.org:8080/faqs/#comment-46 Laura Jean Meade Tue, 30 Jul 2013 16:49:41 +0000 http://climate-walker.org:8080/?page_id=9#comment-46 Hello. Mom and I saw you and your cart in Canal Fulton, Ohio yesterday. I noted the website so I could look at it today. What you are doing is very admirable. I will agree with one of the commentators in your video: 30 or 40 years ago, scientists were talking about a new Ice Age. Now, we’re talking about global warming. Unfortunately, I do contribute may fair share to the emissions – I have to drive 100 miles round trip to work but, thankfully, I now telework two days per week and I have one day every two weeks off – I do have an office job so I work Monday through Friday. I would have liked to have talked to you but Mom wanted to see the big over-size load that was coming throught town. I admire what you are doing and wish you the best of luck as you travel. Traveling all the backroads like you have/are going to do would be so interesting. In my younger days, I would have liked to have done such a trip on horseback! :~) I wish you safe passage on your journey! (and I would love to help you write a book about your travels if you would like after the journey – that would keep the conversation going!)
